Sharp MX 2615N MX 3115N F2-25.

This blog post will show how to find the cause of the Sharp MX 2615N MX 3115N F2-25 error code.

The F2-25 error code will prevent the machine from working. First try to clear the code by turning the machine off. Turn off with the power switch on the control panel. Then turn off the main power switch. The main power switch is inside the front cover. Open the front cover and the main power switch is on the bottom left. Then turn the machine back on. If after turning on the machine the error reoccurs, call a service tech.

The error code means:

The lamp is kept open for 1 second from turning on the discharge lamp. The lamp doesn't come on.

Likely causes.

  1. Contact trouble between the discharge lamp PWB and the PCU PWB. (Bad connection)
  2. Discharge lamp PWB trouble. (Bad discharge LED, which is mounted on a small PWB)
  3. PCU PWB trouble. (Bad PCU board)

The discharge lamp is a small LED. The DL LED is mounted on a small board.

The discharge LEDs can be found on the frame behind the main drive section. And they are hard to get at. Swapping the LED with one from a different color would help you find out if the LED is bad or not. When you swap the LEDs, if the error code changed to the color that you moved it too, it would mean the LED is at fault. But it is not easy to get to the LED. It is faster to check the drive signal from the PCU PWB.

Check the signal:

Remove the back cover from the machine. Find the PCU PWB. Find connector 14. Set your multi meter to read 5VDC. Place the black or negative lead to ground on the machine frame. Place the red or positive lead to the correct pin as listed below on connector 14.

Enter the service mode and turn on the discharge lamp.

Used to check the discharge lamp and control circuit. The discharge lamp is turned on for 30 seconds.

Press the execute key, the lamp signal will go high about 2.9VDC. If the signal does not change from low to a high state, the PCU PWB may be at fault.

How to Repair Bizhub C35 Check Scanner Lock Lever Error.

The Bizhub C35 Check Scanner Lock Lever error is a very common problem. Sometimes it is simple to fix. Just unlock the lock lever and it will clear the error message. But it can also be caused by dirt buildup on the scanner rails or a broken scanner drive belt.

What is a scanner lock lever?

The scanner lock lever switch is located on the top left side of the scanner. The scanner lock switch should be in the unlocked position. It should only be in a locked position when moving the machine. It is supposed to prevent the scanner from sliding and possibly being damaged when the machine is moved. If unlocking the switch corrects the problem, you’re in luck. If not keep reading.

What causes the error?

The “Check Scanner Lock Lever” error is displayed when the scanner can not move to the home position. Anything that prevents free movement of the scanner can cause this error code.

As these machines age the scanner units start to have more problems. Dust and grime build up on the rails causing the scanner to bind. And the scanner drive belts tend to break at the ends. The ends of the belt are looped and secured to the frame. On one end with a screw and on the other end with a spring.

If the error is intermittent and goes away after turning the machine off and on, check for dirty rails. Cleaning and lubricating the sliding surfaces usually takes care of the problem.

If the error is consistent, check for a broken belt. Replacing the belt is not usually necessary. The drive force of the scanner is minimal and does not put a lot of tension on the belt. That didn’t fix the problem what else can I try?

I have talked with other technicians who have found it necessary to replace the main board, ribbon cables, or scanner unit.

  • Check that the scanner lock lever is in the unlocked position.
  • Clean and lubricate the scanner rails, especially for intermittent occurrence.
  • Check the scanner drive belt for breakage.

The scanner drive belt was not listed as a replacement part in the original parts manual. Later editions of the parts manual list the part number for the scanner drive belt as A121PP0N00.

This information also applies to the NEC My Office C350 which is the same machine.

A common cause of misfeeds and paper jams in printers are dirty or worn paper feed rollers. Cleaning a paper feed roller will often correct the problem. Or get you by until a replacement roller can be installed on the printer.

If your HP Laserjet 2420 is having trouble feeding from tray 2, try the steps below.

Remove The Tray 2 Feed Tire

You will need to remove the paper tray 2 feed tire to clean and inspect it properly. Removing the paper feed roller on this model is a little tricky.

Instructions for removing and replacing the tray 2 feed tire can be found in the HP Laserjet 2400 series service manual. The instructions begin on page 152.

Clean The Tray 2 Feed Tire

After removing the paper feed tire you can clean it with plain water or soapy water, either will work fine. Make sure you dry the tire before reinstalling it on the machine.

Inspect The Tray 2 Feed Tire

The feed tire should have small grooves on it to grip the paper. If the tire is slick cleaning should help but the feed tire is worn and needs to be replaced to prevent paper jams from occurring.

When replacing the feed tire its a good idea to also replace the separation pad located in the paper try. The separation pad prevents more than one sheet of paper from coming out of the paper try at one time. If the separation pad is worn (it should be completely flat) you will have multiple sheet feeding from the paper tray.

Note

Make sure the Idler Rollers on the paper tray 2 feed tire shaft rotate freely. I have seen replacement feed rollers that are not properly polished on the idler roller shafts. The rough surface prevents the idler rollers from rotateing freely. This will cause paper jams from try 2 even after replacing the feed tire.

Also I recommend replacing the separation pad as an assembly vs just replacing the pad. When replacing the separation pad there is a plastic hook that can be easily deformed. This makes installing the new pad difficult and may cause the separation pad to be out of position.

  • Remove paper tray 2 feed tire.

Changed Router Now Copier Wont Print

If you installed a new router in your home or small business and now your copier won’t print, you will need to update a few machine network settings.

When a new router is installed it will automatically assign the IP structure for the network. This new IP structure is very often different from the old router’s IP structure. For network devices with DHCP turned on they will generally update to the new IP structure automatically. For devices such as your copier, DHCP is usually turned off and network settings must be entered manually.

DHCP – Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. A method of managing network devices through automatic assignment of IP addresses.

First you need to obtain the new network information.

ipconfig all
Enter: ipconfig /all

On your computer, go to Search Programs and Files, and enter CMD

Double click on CMD to open the command prompt.

At the command prompt type ipconfig /all. (put a space between ipconfig and /all)

Scroll up and find the following information and write it down.

  • IP Address (example – 192.168.1.25)
  • Gateway (example – 192.168.1.1)
  • Subnet Mask (example – 255.255.255.0)
  • DNS (example – 192.168.1.1)

This information will need to be verified or updated on the copier.

Next go to your copier and update the network settings.

How to make the network setting changes will vary depending on the make of the machine. Usually the directions for making the network settings can be found in the administrators guide or a users guide.

Verify the settings below or update them from the old settings to the new settings.

  • IP Address (See below)
  • Gateway (enter exactly what you wrote down in the first step)
  • Subnet Mask (enter exactly what you wrote down in the first step)
  • DNS (enter exactly what you wrote down in the first step)

The IP address is the only information that will not be entered the same as you wrote down. You need to assign the machine an IP address that is not already being used on the network.

When assigning a new IP address, the first three sets of numbers (separated by periods) will stay the same (example 192.168.1.xxx). You will need to designate a value for the last group of digits in the example (highlighted in blue). Let’s use the following IP address 192.168.1.125 for the steps below.

Note

The last 3 digits cannot exceed 255.

Check that the new IP address is not already being used on the network

On your computer, go to Search Programs and Files, and enter CMD

At the command prompt type ping 192.168.1.125 (put a space between ping and 192.168.1.125)

If you get a response like the picture above showing the request timed out, and the destination host is unreachable, than the IP address is not already being used on the network. So you can enter the IP address on your copier.

If you get a response like the picture above showing packets sent 4, received 4, lost 0  than the IP address is already being used on the network and you need to try a different one.

Enter the new IP address on your copier.

After updating the new network settings you will need to turn the copier off and restart it. The new settings will update when the copier has come up to ready.

The directions for updating the information will vary depending on the brand of copier that you have. The administrators guide or users guide will list the instructions for accessing and updating the network information.

  • Restart the copier for new settings to update

Turn The Printer Off And Restart The Printer

The first thing to do to clear the error code and get your printer back on line is to turn the printer off and the on again.

Disconnect The Printer From The Network And Restart The Printer

If you have tried powering down and restarting the printer but the HP error code 49.38.07 has returned the next step is to turn the printer off. And (before restarting the printer) disconnect the network cable from the printer. Then turn the printer back on.

If The Printer Goes To Ready Unplugged From The Network, Clear The Print Queue

If the printer goes to ready without showing the error code, there is probably a corrupt print job in the printer queue.

  • Go To Devices and Printers
  • Go To The HP Printer Icon (for this printer)
  • Left Click On The HP Printer Icon
  • Right Click On See Whats Printing
  • Right Click On Printer
  • Right Click On Cancel all documents

Note

The print queue needs to be cleared for every computer on the network that can send print jobs to the HP printer.

After ensuring the the printer queue is cleared, reconnect the printer to the network. If you are now able to print, you’re done.

If The Error Code Reappears When Plugged Back Into The Network Check These Items

  • Bad network Cable
  • Damaged USB port
  • Corrupted Printer Driver
  • Network Configuration Problem

These are the most probable causes. You may need to call a printer service technician to correct this problem.

If The HP Laserjet M602 error 49 38 07 Reappears When Disconnected From The Network

If however the error code reappears (while being disconnected from the network)  it is not being caused by the network connection.

The next step will be to perform a firmware upgrade.

You can download the most current firmware for your HP Enterprise 600 series printer at support.hp.com. Download the firmware file to a USB flash drive.

  1. Turn the product on.
  2. Press the Stop button when the Ready, Data and Attention LEDs illuminate solid.
  3. Scroll to the Administrator menu, and then press the OK button.
  4. Scroll to the Download item, and then press the OK button.
  5. Insert the flash drive with the xxxxxxx.bdl file on it.

NOTE

If the error message No USB Thumbdrive Files Found appears on the control-panel display, you might need to connect the storage device to the external USB connection on the formatter or try using a different portable storage device.

  1. Scroll to the USB Thumbdrive item, and then press the OK button.
  2. Scroll to the xxxxxxx.bdl file, and then press the OK button.

NOTE

The upgrade process can take up to 10 minutes to complete.

If there is more than one xxxxxxx.bdl file on the storage device, make sure that you select the correct file.

  • When the message Complete appears on the control-panel display, press the Back button 3 times.
  • When the message Continue appears on the control-panel display, press the OK button. The product will initialize.
  • Reconnect your printer to the network and test the print function.

If the printer functions normally you’re done. If the HP Laserjet M602 error 49 38 07 continues to display, you should call you’re local HP service technician.

This article will explain what, sender’s name is not selected, means and what to do about it. This message is displayed when scanning to an email address on a Ricoh multifunction copier. This will also apply to Savin, Lanier, and Gestetner models that were manufactured by Ricoh.

What does senders name is not selected mean

The machines software is asking you to provide an email address to designate as the from email address or in other words the sender’s email address.

Usually when scanning to email on a MFP you designate the email address for the recipient, then hit the send button. But on a Ricoh MFP you will need to enter an email address for the sender as well. However you can configure the copier to automatically fill in the senders name for you. Instructions for entering the senders email and configuring the copier to auto fill the sender name are outlined below.

How to Select Senders Name

First select exit to close the error message window as shown in the picture above. Then look on the touch screen for a button that says attach senders name.

Depending on the model of your Ricoh MFP the button may be located elsewhere on the touch screen. A Ricoh MP 3245C MFP is shown here.

 

Touch the attach senders name button and then designate the sender’s email address by selecting an email address. You must use one of the buttons in the address book that has permission to be used as a sender’s address enabled. Only enabled address will be shown.

Then press the start button to send your email.

How to enable permission to use as a sender’s address

User tools>Systems Settings>Admin Tools>Address Book Management>Select User Button>Protection>Select Sender

Note

Permission to use as a sender’s address can also be given via the web interface. The setting will appear on the address book configuration page under the protection sub heading.

How to configure the copier to automatically fill in the senders address

Step One

Enter the default sender’s email address. Navigate through the user tools on the operation panel using the path below.

User tools>Systems Settings>File Transfer>Administrator Email address

Enter the email address you want to show as the senders address.

Step Two

Enable the copier to automatically specify the users name.

User tools>Systems Settings>File Transfer>Auto Specify Sender’s Name

Set Auto specify senders name to on.

  2. Close the dialog box, and select attach senders name. Then enter the from email address.
